This week's meeting was truly interesting.
Not only did we test a new format, but we also made excellent use of our time together. As I continue to find my rhythm as President, which has proven to be a much more complex role than I anticipated, I acknowledge that the programme may have been a little ambitious for a single evening.
Nevertheless, I am embracing the challenge and working closely with the leadership team, Gurtej, John, Judith, and Pat, to establish a modified routine that serves our club well. It is a complex and dynamic environment, and at the heart of it all are you, our members, who make this work meaningful and worthwhile.
What has truly inspired me since becoming President is the number of people I have had the privilege of meeting. Each person has their own story, their own source of motivation, and their own hopes and aspirations. It has reinforced for me the belief that together, we can achieve so much more than any of us could alone.
Rotary never ceases to amaze me.
The past week has been a testament to the remarkable things we can achieve together: locally here in Tawa, across our district, and around the globe. We continue to make incredible progress toward the eradication of polio, with no reported cases in the past 17 days. We support children facing mental health challenges, promote literacy, and empower people within our Tawa community through a wide range of initiatives.
And there is plenty more to come. September, October, and November are shaping up to be exciting months, filled with opportunities to connect, serve, and make a difference together.
