PLEASE NOTE:   For our meeting on the 24th April (being the day before ANZAC Day) we are going to assemble a little earlier at 5.45 pm (before it gets dark), at  The Memorial opposite the RSA at the end of Oxford Street.   Here we will remember the occasion with a few words and the Ode of Remembrance, and a wreath laying.     We'll return to the  Bowling Club about 6.15, for a slightly later dinner time of 6.30 p.m.   Poppies will be available.

 

Our speaker for the evening is Sarah Davies, from the WW100 project, which is the programme organised by the government to celebrate the centenary of the 1st World War and will culminate at Remembrance Day on 11th November 2018.

 

 

 

 

 

On 17th April we heared from Marie Munro and her long apprenticeship to writing and publishing a children's book, "Nanas Shed", which was launched in July last year, at the Tawa Library.

During the 2019 - 2020 Rotary year the Rotary Club of Tawa will celebrate its 50th anniversary, culminating with a celebration dinner event during April 2020.    A new history of the Club is also being planned.
