Last Saturday a group from Rotary helped Foster Hope pack bags and cartons. President Denise, Board member Lyn Calman, new members Fiona Houghton, Karyn Meade, and Patricia Davey (Denise's sister ) spent about 3 hours packing backpacks, cargo bags and cartons for children going into foster care.
The back packs contained toiletries, undies, hats, towels, lunch box, books, pens, a toy and so much more. All donated goods are needed to pass on to the children from birth to 18 years.
It was a hot day at the workshop in Porirua, filling cartons with prefilled bags to be transported to different areas in NZ.
June Mathew, her mum and friends were all helping making it about 14 people in total over the day.
