“World Polio Day was celebrated on a Thursday 24th October. A major push to finally eliminate the polio virus from the world is on the brink and is possible over the next 5 years. The cost is great but the benefits so much greater. And what is even better for Rotary is that our find raising is tripled by the contributions from our partners, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Thank you for your contributions last Tuesday which amounted to $72.40. A further $144 was raised from Tawa commuters at Tawa Railway station. There are some further direct contributions to the Club bank account. However, we are still a long way short of the district target for the World Polio Day Ride the Train project of around $31 per member if district is to make its target of $10,000.
So if you missed an opportunity to contribute last week or wish to top up your contribution please make an internet back transfer direct to the Club Account by the end of October. Account 02-0552-0037039-000 , Reference = Surname + initial, Particulars = PolioDay.
Thank you.”
Thanks
