Update from Karyn: Stuff the Trailers On-behalf of Richard and Karyn Many thanks to you all for your participation in making today's Stuff the Trailer another successful community project for Rotary and our joint partners in this venture being; Tawa Inner Wheel, One Agency and the Tawa Salvation Army food-bank. The day was even more blessed by the wonderful weather and no wind. I will report further when I have more stats on the days actual takings, but Sarah Opie reports to me from the food bank her grateful thanks for our help in replenishment of their food bank shelves, in readiness for the 2nd half of the year, as a result of today's effort. If anyone has any feedback/comments that they would wish to provide on any high-lights or low-lights and suggestions for improvement next time, that would be very welcome back to me please and I'm happy to co-ordinate these to the organising committee debrief, and I believe also that Salvation Army will probably also run a post event survey, regards Richard. Special update from the Inner Wheel Club of Tawa Please express thanks to the team in the various participation rolls that Club members had in making this community event a success across multi-agencies. The cash donations that will be passed to Salvation Army in the form of supermarket vouchers are - from Countdown site $579.90 (plus $100 taken to help cover food and gas expenses in running the bbq) - from New World site $792.00 TOTAL $1,371.90 Haven't yet had a final count of total banana boxes received at Salvation Army but there there were over 20 boxes filled at Countdown (from the number that I dropped off to Countdown). And Sarah Opie said she was very please to see the Tawa food-bank shelves filled once again to sustain them through the second half of the year. Awesome effort by everybody involved. 
COVID vaccination volunteers. Call for Volunteers to assist with COVID-19 vaccination roll out. As additional vaccine supplies become available CCH DHB are ramping up their three large COVID vaccination clinics located in Porirua, Kapiti and Lower Hutt. Wellington Hospitals Foundation is coordinating the supply of volunteers to support people during their visits to local community COVID vaccination clinics – and they need your help. If you are a friendly, outgoing and helpful person and would like to assist people during their visit to a COVID clinic in a discreet and respectful way, they would love to hear from you! They are looking for people that are available for 3-4 hours, once a week on a regular roster. If interested please complete the application form from the link on the Wellington Hospitals Foundation website at https://whf.org.nz/ Elsewhere around the world Rotary has been active in assisting with the COVID vaccine rollout. Now this opportunity has come to New Zealand.
