Kia ora Rotary whānau I hope you have all managed to weather the rather unpleasant climate changes we have had over the past week or so! On Tuesday evening, Fraser Asghar (my son) entertained about 17 members and expertly guided us through the Rotary Olympics night – a mix of activities, low impact sports and cerebral challenges…that kicked off with fish and chips to ‘carb us up’. There was much “innovation and curiosity” (some might call cheating and collusion!) but the room was filled with laughter, gentle teasing, significant concentration, and overall, fun! Fraser and me came away buzzing from what I hope everyone thought was a great time spent in each other’s company. In the end there were Rotary Olympian medal winners: Gold: Tim and John Silver: Ian and Russell Bronze: Tony and Elizabeth You never know they may have to defend their titles next year! Next Tuesday is a busy night with us hearing from our RYPEN candidate and Sebastian Grood from the Life Flight Trust. We are hoping that some fellow Rotarian’s from other clubs will join us on the evening. A Special General Meeting is scheduled for 23 May to keep us right from a governance perspective as we move to the year-end and to hear from the Presidents Elect. Have a great week! Ngā mihi nui Joe |
