A modified vaccine offers hope that eradication is closer than ever

In mid-2017, two groups of 15 strangers lived together for 28 days each in a ring of shipping containers assembled in the parking lot of Antwerp University Hospital in Belgium. They had access to books and movies, a small courtyard for barbecues, a common kitchen and dining room, and a fitness room — all of it behind secure interlocking doors and under the watch of personnel in protective gowns.

NOTICES:

Last week President Jo and fund raising Convenor, Elizabeth met with staff from Brian Webb Kindergarten.
The meeting was to recognise the grant of $1000 made by the Rotary Club of Tawa to assist in the development of a sensory room for the kindergarten.
The photograph shows the staff receiving a presentation certificate detailing the grant.

Please contact Karyn Meade if you able to be our contact person from the Tawa Rotary Club:

Hope everyone is keeping well.  I am contacting you  to see if  members are able to help Porirua Rotary cover the hours required in December. I would really like to work alongside someone who can help coordinate on behalf of your club as there are many shifts to cover and people chop and change their availability as Christmas approaches. I will make the schedule available on Google docs and share with whomsoever you nominate and that way we can prevent duplication and any confusion. Please let me know whom to contact and I can arrange a quick meeting next week to discuss in more detail. I do hope you are able to help out as in previous years.

Kind regards
Kathryn Beattie

Please note: we have a new domain address for our website: https://tawarotary.club

This change takes up the domain name service that’s available through Rotary ROZops Oceania at a discounted rate, and the advantages of a service that’s familiar with Rotary.
Tawa Rotarians are encouraged to bookmark and to share this new domain name – where people can find out about Tawa Rotary, our club activities, upcoming speakers and the programme.
The more often that people visit the tawarotary.club website, the better – that will raise the profile of the website in Google searches.

Action Plan

As People of Action, we understand that fulfilling that vision requires a plan.
More than a century ago, we pioneered a new model of service leadership grounded in person-to-person connections. Today, those connections are a network that spans the globe—bridging cultural, linguistic, generational, and geographic barriers—and shares the vision of a better world. As People of Action, we understand that fulfilling that vision requires a plan.
