Again, on behalf of Richard, many thanks to those of you that were able to assist with the hanging baskets on the main street. It is amazing how it transforms the street and brings real joy to passing pedestrians.
On Tuesday evening we were able to have Dr Denis Delaney, a well known and respected General Practitioner from Ngaio Surgery. He shared his memories of early general practice alongside his father and the importance of being a listening ear to patients – in looking forward he hoped that the compassion, care and communication that are core components of being a GP is not lost as we move into a technological and robotic age…….real food for thought!
Well done to John Melville who won the New World Hamper in the raffle this week – he said he would share what’s left after he’s eaten it all!

Community Party Volunteers (Tawa Residents Association) Thursday 12 Jan 2023: Richard Herbert has been asked by former Wellington Rotarian and chair of the Tawa Residence Association, Tony Hassed, whether a couple of Tawa Rotarians could run the BBQ as part of a neighbourhood community party at Wall Park Linden on Thursday, Jan 12th between 4-7pm, to help celebrate the completion of a new playground. Tawa Rotary Club Christmas Function 10 December 2022
26 attended, good support from Inner Wheel too, with President Dianne Patchett and quite a few members attending.
We had a fabulous night. Great food, including Elizabeth's home made brandy sauce for the Xmas puds,
John was games master and a lot of fun was had with a Christmas Quiz and Charades.
Thanks to Elizabeth and John for hosting. The table looked gorgeous and food was fabulous.
Also to members Lyn and Denise for helping with food preparation and tidy up, and Judith for providing bread, and Martin for the home grown fresh lettuce.

The District Conference will start on the evening of Friday 17 March 2023, and continue through Saturday 18th and Sunday 18th March at Southwards Car Museum.
