During the COVID-19 pandemic's initial U.S. wave in 2020, Detroit, Michigan, was one of many cities where first responders and medical personnel needed more personal protective equipment.
A Rotary club in India learned about the situation and contacted its longtime partner, the Rotary Club of Detroit.

I hope that this email finds you well. I have managed to complete the 300km cycle from Aoraki/Mount Cook to Oamaru with not too much trouble and am now getting back into the swing of things.
Tuesday evening was the joint event with Lions where Helen Brooks-Smith shared with us her experiences of working in and as part of the Special Olympics team in New Zealand. She covered off the history and amazing background to what is now truly a global organisation and events covering both winter and summer sport activities. She has been an inspiration to many and has home grown many teams here in Aotearoa/New Zealand – what a woman!
Don won the raffle prize for Rotary….so looking forward to sharing that white wine Don!
Judith is still looking for volunteers to help and support the afterparty at the Xmas Parade on 3 December so please step up …..lots to do and we need help!
On Tuesday we will have Lee Wilkinson presenting to us on ‘Attracting people to engage with Rotary’. At the same time our two Area Governors – Liz Koh and Kay Phillips will be attending to introduce themselves and describe their roles as Area Governors. I do hope you can make it.
On 29 November Prof Michael Baker will be attending to share his reflections on Covid in Aotearoa/New Zealand – please invite all…... friends, families and neighbours. His presentation will start at 7pm after dinner.
