In October 2019 I said to the club I was taking on the Presidents role again for 6 months because I believed in Rotary and no-one else was prepared to accept the nomination.
Well I have ended up doing double time (the whole 12 months), I still believe in Rotary, but I now see like many organisations, we are having trouble not so much with membership but finding members to take positions of responsibility.
You will note I have not used the word leadership as we are all leaders.
This piece will likely be my last as next week we have our changeover and Karyn gets to pick-up the reins. It has been an interesting 12 months, COVID has placed some restrictions on us at times and has come back again in the last few days.
We did however get to have our 50 + 1 anniversary celebration, that should have been Judith’s big event. We have done a few working bees for KCA, Foster Hope and with Inner Wheel we have stuffed the trailers, we have been to the movies and had the World’s Greatest Meal.
We ran a successful book fair and are about to do the same again, thank you Pat, Gaylene, Elizabeth and team.
I would like to thank you for your support over this last year, it has been one of uncertainty and change.
It may not have gone smoothly, but as a Board I believe we did our best.
Remember the club is all of us, we succeed together and together we succeed.
