What a busy weekend in our District D9940:

District Changeover Saturday attended by Richard Herbert, Judith Gray, Pat Waite and Marty and Denise in Otaki thanking DG Mark Wheeler and welcoming incoming DG Marilyn Stevens.

Tawa Rotary received a banner for 2nd in the District for giving through foundation to Rotary International.

Martin Garcia as District 9940 Foundation District chair held a Rotary International Major Donor lunch for 40 people with Mark Wheeler on Sunday for Rotary International Board Director Jesse Harman here from Australia, DG Mark and DG Marilyn, NZ Arch Clump major Donors Stuart and Vivien Searle - Members of the Rotary Club of Pukekohe

Attended by Tawa Rotary Major donors Pat Waite and Martin and Denise Garcia.

Tawa Rotary members Judith Gray, Martin and Denise Garcia attended the handover of the $500,000 Rotary District 9940 cheque from Adrienne Murray Chairperson on behalf of the Rotary Childrens Health Trust to Bill Day of the Hospi Foundation Sunday morning.

President Karyn Notes

Hi all.

Well this is my last bulletin, with handing over the presidency to Joe on Tuesday. With no meeting last week, there’s not much to report on from my perspective.

A couple of things that have happened over the week is Joe attending the opening of the Ohariu Collection, an Art Exhibition at Parliament House to enable MPs to promote art and artists from their electorate. Greg O’Connor as the MP for Ohariu kindly invited us, with Joe accepting on our behalf.

Jesse Harman, from the Wondouree rotary Club in Victoria, Australia, is the first female RI Director from Zone 8 and Chair of the RI Membership Board.

She’s in Wellington this week, and attending a tree planting ceremony in Plimmerton, followed by a watching of the Te Ara Piko video and social event at Pauatahanui’s Lighthouse Theatre on Sunday 26^th. You should have all received the invite from Paul and I understand a few of our club members are attending. Unfortunately I’m away for the weekend and unable to make it.

On 9^th August, we are hosting members from a number of other Wellington clubs, including Karori and Mt Victoria, plus others who are interested, in an evening with DGE Wayne Gordon to talk about Rotary Regionalisation. It’s expected there will be 20-25 guests attending.

And finally of course, this week’s meeting is Changeover, hope to see you all there.
