On Tuesday 9th October, we had a Pizza and Project Discussion evening
It was a very busy night with the following topics discussed.
- Toot for Tucker - Laura and Allister as Co-Leaders, Peter as Mentor
- Book Fair 2019 - Pat and Tony as Co-Leaders
- Timor Leste - medical equipment to Suai hospital - Martin and Denise as Co-leaders
- Solomon Islands - children's dresses / shorts sewing - Bruce Phillips & Judith Havill
- Spring into Tawa - change of plan - as we are next to the Inner Wheel stall and they have a very large raffle - thoughts were that we do blood pressure readings instead as a community service - Denise, Liz, Lyn, Judith Gray
NOTE: Rotary have also now been asked to help with Spring into Tawa Set Up at 6.30 - 10 a.m. guiding people to their stalls and helping with scones tea etc. Another community service Rotary can be seen active doing in our High Viz Vests. - Longview driving roster - no driving until further notice until the new manager is ready - Gaylene Lines
- Community projects - Pat suggested on behalf of Phil a community walk and checking and fixing past Rotary projects in Tawa - Phil Harland
- Pink Ribbon Collection Day - this Saturday 9-1 at Take Note 1-5 at Lotto shop - Liz
- Stroke Awareness campaign feedback - 66 people seen at New World Tawa stall last Saturday, 11 suggested referrals to GP made - thanks to the 11 members and Fiona and Robyn, for helping take blood pressures - Denise
