On Tuesday, 16th October, we had the 9940 District Governor, Marion Johnston visit, and our Tawa Rotary World's Greatest Meal fun night.

Thanks to Judith who had organised a Paella Chef to be on site and a Spanish flavour to the night.   And with some dancing entertainment of the dancing style from the Dominican Republic.  It was good to also hear from Phil Harland in attendance.

We also used the occasion to celebrate World Polio Day (24th October) with a World's Greatest Meal fundraising event for POLIO.   And Michael Fagg, chair of district 9940 Polio Plus programme, gave us a presentation update on the Rotary's Polio Plus programme.

A highlight of the evening was the honouring of member Malcolm Andrews with a Paul Harris Fellowship Sapphire Pin for his many years of service to the club and district, presented by president Denise and DG Marion.

As part of Marion's presentation she also spoke about her proposed district conference in Wanganui, May 17, 2019 – May 19, 2019, with the theme of "Light my Fire".   Keep these dates free.
