Kia ora fellow Rotarians
I hope the past few weeks have treated you well. Since I have been away it has definitely got cold and dark!
This week we had a range of speakers from Tawa. Mathew was our main speaker providing a very personal and informative view of the RYPEN programe he attended during March this year. Funnily enough we had to haul him out of the swimming pool to get to the Club as he got the dates mixed! At the same time, we had Calla who shared with us some of the activities current and planned for interact at Tawa College (approximately 25 names on their list) and Daniella who is attending the IYM programme – shared her excitement for the upcoming activities and the opportunities it will provide her to grow and develop as she enters the next stage of her academic life.
Well done to Ian Munro who won this weeks raffle prize from The Village Bakery. Then it was straight into the Board meeting, and attached are some brief notes – thanks Paul!
On Tuesday we have a quiz night at the Borough – we need those tables filled! Kick off time is 7pm finishing at 9pm. Feel free to come along and join a table if you haven’t got one – we need you there!
This will be my last note as President. Thank you all for your support and advice during what has been a successful year for the club, but a challenging year for me at work and home. I have appreciated your dedication to Rotary and to the Tawa community. Onwards and upwards!
Handover is on 4 July (with a Tartan theme!) – partners very welcome and please RSVP.
Nga mihi nui
