Changeover Evening
On Tuesday 2nd July a successful Rotary Tawa changeover night was held – with 60 attendees.
The evening commenced with a time of silence in memory of Doug Burrus.
A very special Honour.
President Denise had the honour in presenting Karen Searle with a PHF award in recognition of women in Rotary for 30 years and Karen’s 26 years service of helping with Rotary Tawa community service, set up, IT support and helping guest speakers with their presentations, plus project work and helping other community groups with the venue set up etc.
Denise also had the very special honour of presenting a PHF award to Immediate Past President Richard Herbert for his outstanding community service over the past 15 years at Rotary Tawa and with involvement in many community agencies with a focus on community, trees, environment, Council, plus much more.
2 more outstanding Tawa Rotarians. Thank you both.
Thank You and Appreciation Certificates
President Denise as a thank you to members paid tribute to the years of members service by giving everyone with over 10 years service a certificate - those not there can find them this week or next week at the meeting. (The certificate for Doug was taken by Judith and Elizabeth to give to Frances Burrus for Doug's 30 years of Rotary service. Doug will be sadly missed, he made a huge contribution to our club and to the community during his 30 years.)

Carolyn Crutch Inner Wheel President was given a certificate of appreciation of her community work and for her leadership in forming closer relations with Rotary Tawa – well done Carolyn.
Elaine Harris, Jenaya Peterson, Dave Nolan, were thanked with certificates and chocolates in appreciation for their kindness and support in making our meetings happy places with great food and kind service.
Congratulations to Judith Gray who was installed as Rotary Tawa president for the coming year.
